I offer private lessons in Canberra and the surrounding areas.
Lessons begin with groundwork, with the goal of encouraging a mentally flexible horse that is not only quiet and safe, but also responsive when required. All the groundwork exercises relate to ridden work later on.
Once ridden lessons begin, the focus is on having a quiet,calm, relaxed horse in all gaits, that is also responsive to the rider's aids.
Through this process, the rider is able to identify any problems and deal with them as they occur, ensuring their foundation is solid.

While my aim is to help each owner to develop the skils required to work with their own horses, I will occassionally take horses for further training. I can also offer float loading assistance.
3 hour mini clinics are available for groups of up to 4 people of a similar level. A great way to share your lessons, learn from others and expose horses to outside stimuli.
I have students of all ages and take great pride in watching my youngest ones smiling and succeeding with their ponies!
Just like adults, I aim to give children the skills they need to handle their ponies from the ground up, with ponies showing respect for their young handlers. Under saddle, I like to equip them with the tools they will need to ensure a safe and fun riding partnership.
I aim to regularly encourage children of all ages into group situations, to socialise with each other, as well as enjoy their horses.
It's really important to me that the kids learn at their own pace. Every child is a unique indiviudal and I try to take that into account when coaching.
