I've loved horses for as long as I can remember. After a few years at local riding schools, the dream finally came true with the purchase of my first horse, Chips - in 1989. So began a long love affair, with many horses over the next 30 years.
In 1998, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to the concept of developing a strong foundation for your horse, from the ground up, before specialised training.
This led to me seeking out and studying with some of of the world's best known horsemanship trainers and from here on, I further developed my skills with horses, including training both on the ground and under saddle.
My passion now lies with developing a solid foundation for every horse and rider, regardless of discipline or riding style. Incorporating all I have learned over the years, I take great pride in the work I do with horses on the ground, to prepare them as good riding horses. I enjoy working with challenging horses and am grateful for everything I learn from each one.
Recently I have completed a Certificate III in Sports Coaching - Equestrian, which has helped me to further my skills in teaching others and can offer tuition in both groundwork and ridden skills, for adults and children alike.
With two young daughters myself, who both ride, I have a keen interest in setting kids up from the very beginning with sound horsemanship skills.
As a family, we have been enjoying a number of horses and ponies over the last seven years and enjoy a variety of different outings and events together. We are very proud of our super versatile horses, that can take on just about anything!
I look forward to meeting every one of my new students and their horses and seeing them progress.
